Two New Suspects Nabbed In Connection To MS-13 Related Long Island Killing Of Teen

The killing of 19-year-old Daniel Garcia-Carbajal, of Freeport, took place on Thursday, March 4, in Freeport, said the Nassau County Police. 

According to detectives, the body of Garcia-Carbajal was found deceased in Cow Meadow Park with an apparent gunshot wound. 

Manuel Aparicio Gomez, age 22, of Hempstead and Edgardo Caballero, age 18, of Far Rockaway, were arrested on Sunday, April 25, in connection with the killing, police said.

A third man, Tulio Ayala, age 42, of Central Islip, was charged with murder and conspiracy charges on Tuesday, April 13. He has pleaded not guilty to the crime.

A prosecutor with the case said Garcia-Carbajal was lured to the park along with another teen before he was killed.

Gomez has been charged with murder and conspiracy.

Caballero was charged with conspiracy.

Both men are scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, April 26 in Mineola.
